Nordic Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships 2008 October 24-26, 2008
The Weightlifting Club “Olympianostajat” will organize Nordic Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships 2008 for 17 and 20 year old Males and Females in Pori (Björneborg), Finland on October 24-26, 2008 according to the following conditions:
1.Preliminary Schedule Arrival of Delegations: Friday October 24, 2008 Departure of Delegations: Sunday October 26, 2008 Friday 18.00 Dinner Technical Congress at Hotel Vaakuna Saturday 10.00 Weigh-in at hotel: Youth under 17 years 12.00 Competition: Youth under 17 years Lunch at competition venue 20.00 Dinner Banquet at hotel Sunday 9.00 Weigh-in at hotel: Juniors under 20 years 11.00 Competition: Juniors under 20 years Lunch at competition venue
2. Competition site
The competition will be organized at Porin Urheilutalo (Pori Sporthall). The competition hotel is 1,5 kilometres from the venue. There will be transportation between the hotel and venue.
Pori is 240 km northwest from Helsinki (Helsingfors) and 150 km north from Turku (Åbo). Travel to Pori can be done by car, bus, train or airplane.
3. Awards
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded for First, Second and Third Places in Total.
- Best Lifters in each category will receive an award.
- Best Female Team and Best Male Team will receive Team Awards.
4. Financial conditions
The participants will pay 80 Euros per person in double or triple room per day or 120 Euros in single room per day as the accommodation fee. On the Final Entry Form please mark ‘YES’ for accommodation in single room, otherwise double or triple room will be reserved.
There is no entry fee.
5. Entries
Preliminary entries must be received by the Organizing Committee by September 9, 2008. Final entries must be received by the Organizing Committee by October 9, 2008.
6. Other information
Eleiko equipment and Haltero computerprogram (by Luttinen) will be used. Finland’s Sport TV will air a sixty-minute program from competition.
